Police Synchronicity GrooveBowl, The

$30.00
Released in 1983, Synchronicity is the Police's fifth and final studio album. It was their most commercially successful release, and included the number one single, "Every Breath You Take."

Synchronicity marked the end of the reggae influences that were a part of the Police's previous records, but featured influences of World music, especially on songs such as "Tea in the Sahara" and "Walking in Your Footsteps". Overladen, and sometimes completely driven, synthesizer songs were common on the album.

Sting's material dominates Synchronicity, with two short tracks by Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland being seen by the band themselves as concessions.

The three band members recorded their parts in separate rooms: Sting in the control room, Copeland with his drums in the dining room, and Summers in the actual studio. This physical separation highlights the increasing tensions between the bandmates.

During the recording of "Every Breath You Take," Sting and Copeland actually came to blows with each other, and co-producer Hugh Padgham nearly quit the project.

Synchronicity topped both the Billboard Pop Albums and Billboard 200 charts (ending the reign of Michael Jackson's Thriller for a while in the US). It won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

In 2001, VH1 named Synchronicity the 50th greatest album of all time. In 2003, the album was ranked number 455 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

And now this particular copy is a GrooveBowl. It's 4 inches high, all smooth and perfectly curvy, it has 3 clear non-slip rubber feet and the spindle hole has been capped and the labels lacquered.

Comes numbered and signed with the original cover in a paperboard box, so it's ready to be shipped as a gift. We'll even add a note conveying your best wishes.

Keep the GrooveBowl away from liquids and messy foods. It's not microwave or dishwasher safe, so please treat it with the same respect the old folks gave their records.

You can use your GrooveBowl for so many other things. Or you might want to leave it simply as it is: beautifully, perfectly itself.
